Jaquar Urinal (URS-WHT-13255) is a wall-mounted white urinal measuring 480 x 300 x 740 mm, supplied with fixing accessories and built for sensor flushing.

The important thing to understand before ordering is what the box contains. Jaquar’s own product description reads “Urinal Without Sensor With Fixing Accessories”. You receive the ceramic and the fixings to mount it. The sensor flush valve is a separate purchase, and without it the urinal has no means of flushing at all.

That is how Jaquar builds this part of the range, and there is sense in it. The ceramic is fixed; the flushing can be specified separately to suit the installation — the water supply available, the budget, and whether a project wants concealed or exposed flushing. It only becomes a problem when someone buys the ceramic expecting a complete working urinal.

Sensor flushing itself is the right specification for a commercial washroom. Nothing is touched, which matters for hygiene in a shared facility; the flush runs for a set duration every time, so it cannot be left running or skipped; and because it only triggers on use, water consumption is lower than a timed or continuously flushing system. In a building with heavy washroom traffic that difference is measured in thousands of litres a month.
